What to do with all those candy bars from random holidays… Chop them up and add them to your Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Honestly, this recipe doesn’t NEED the candy bars it is so good with a full bag of milk chocolate chips but the candy bars are a fun addition too.
Chocolate Chip Candy Bar Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups salted butter
- 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 6-12 oz Ghiradelli milk chocolate chips 1/2 of the bag if you are adding candy bars to your cookie bag. Full bag if not adding candy bars.
- 8-12 bite-size candy bars of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°
- Chop up bite-size candy bars if using them
- Using a paddle attachment on the mixer, cream butter
- Add sugars and mix until just blended
- Add eggs and mix well
- Add the vanilla, baking powder, and baking soda, mix well
- Put mixer on low speed and add in flour. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix
- Stir in candy bars if adding them
- Stir in chocolate chips
- Using a scoop make 1-2 tbsp sized round cookie balls
- Bake for 7-9 minutes. We prefer ours slightly undercooked in the middle, then let them finish cooking on the cookie sheet for a few minutes. Then remove them to paper towels or a cookie rack to finish cooling.
