WOOHOO Day 2! These days are flying…..haha just kidding. Day 2 started off great! I got up, got my workout in and did all my regular morning things.
Breakfast
Breakfast was 2 eggs again with Everything But The Bagel Seasoning and Franks Red Hot Sauce. The kids had requested bacon so I got a strip of it on the side.
I was still feeling pretty good at this point…
Lunch
Lunch was one of our old standbys and I am sure it will be a apart of our Super Bowl spread too. It was Chicken Wings on the grill. See Recipe Below
Grilled Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- Chicken Wings
- pinch Salt and Pepper
- 1/4 cup Olive oil
- 1/4 cup Clarified Butter
- 1/2 cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
Instructions
- Turn Grill on
- Toss Chicken Wings in Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper. You may need more depending on how many wings.
- After grill has been preheated turn heat to low. The Olive oil and the Skin on the wings can create flare ups.
Place wings on the grill. Try to put them fat side up at first. Grill until almost done. - While the chicken is cooking. Melt Clarified butter in a microwave safe dish. Once melted add Hot Sauce. I typically add a little salt & pepper to this mixture too.
- Brush the mixture on to one side of the wings. Let grill for a minute or two. Flip wings and brush more sauce on. Grill for another minute or two and then they are done!
Notes

Somewhere between lunch and dinner my Day 2 hangover set in. What does this mean? It means I got real sluggish and a little fuzzy headed. Almost like I had been drinking all morning and then stopped. Why is this happening? Well this is because my body is processing through all the JUNK I ate prior to Whole30. It’s detoxing if you will. The good news is, this typically only last a couple of days. The bad news, this is not the worst of it yet……
Dinner
Dinner was another recipe out of Whole30 Fast & Easy called Turkey Tenderloins with Cherry Tomato- Serrano Peperonata. I omitted the tomatoes because well…I am technically allergic to them. It was delish and full of flavor! Since it had peppers and onions I didn’t worry about another vegetable other than Whole30 mashed potatoes and gravy. The Mashed potatoes you make just like normal but I used coconut milk and salt and pepper to doctor them up. As for the Gravy…. just chicken broth, arrowroot, salt and pepper. It wasn’t close to a normal gravy but it did give the potatoes a little something they were otherwise lacking.
Sleep
I didn’t get much sleep because of kids but the sleep I did get was darn good. I slept hard! Like real Hard!
Bring on day 3!
